What is the difference between using local storage and Lansoft Storage as a root device?

When you start Lansoft instances, you have the option to store the data of the device used to operate in the Lansoft storage space or the local storage space. When you use Lansoft Elastic Block Storage, the data of the used device will never be lost, regardless of the instance’s lifecycle.

On the other hand, in the local instance store, data is only stored during the instance lifecycle. This is an efficient way to run instances in which data is not stored in the Lansoft external data storage device. For example, some clients use this characteristic for large websites to multiply instances in high traffic situations.

What can I do with Lansoft Cloud?

As Lansoft Elastic Block Storage Service allows unlimited data storage in our cloud, Lansoft Cloud Resources offers a large cloud processing capacity (CPU, Memory, IOPS and other components which can be extended in real time). Lansoft Cloud’s easy to use interface allows you to access and setup processing resources with minimal effort.

How fast do systems start?

Usually, in 15 minutes time from the moment in which the startup command was given.

Why is my phone number needed to register for Lansoft Cloud?

To register for Lansoft Cloud, the Lansoft user database has to include your valid phone number and email (in case we need to contact you). The confirmation process lasts a few minutes, during which a phone call will be placed and you will have to insert the PIN code using your phone. These measures are necessary to ensure the security of transactions and their validity.

What operating system environments are accepted?

Lansoft Cloud currently accepts several operating systems, including: Linux, Ubuntu, Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Fedora, Debian, CentOS, Gentoo Linux, Oracle Linux and FreeBSD. We are actively researching ways to offer support for additional platforms.

Does Amazon EC2 use ECC memory?

From our experience, ECC memory is necessary to ensure that the server infrastructure functions and that every equipment that Lansoft Cloud employs uses ECC memory.
